An HBW Foreman/Carpenter is integral to the company's Services Division. The Foreman can lead on-site operations by pushing the schedule and coordinating subcontractors.  The Foreman is also able to build, install, and repair structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.  In this position the Foreman will ensure all work is done with superior quality while maintaining a safe working environment.


  • Takes ownership of projects by being accountable for the quality of product, delivering the project on time and meeting the client's expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with both written and verbal correspondence.
  • Understand and enforce the buildings rules and regulations as needed.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and raw materials required.
  • Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools or power saw.
  • Assembles and fastens materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins or glue.
  • Repairs and maintains cabinets, doors, frameworks and floors using woodworking machines and hand/power tools.
  • Ensures proper alignment of structures using rulers, spirit levels and theodolite.
  • Ensures work is up to code and specifications.
  • Provides outstanding customer service while completing work.
  • Serves as an HBW advocate and ambassador in every interaction with coworkers, customers and public.
  • Complies with all HBW regulations and rules and adheres to all safety standards.
  • Performs any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall Services Division.




  • Review and assess layouts prior to a job beginning; communicate any conflicts or discrepancies discovered.
  • Schedule day-to-day efforts among trade subcontractors by understanding how each trade's scope fits into the sequence of activities.
  • Coordinate with trades to plan the project out and use milestone to evaluate the progress of the project. Identify areas where schedule efficiencies can be gained and adjust to conflicts.
  • Schedule and obtain all required inspections and ensure necessary permits are in place for the work.
  • Track all materials and equipment from submission of submittals to site delivery.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on schedule.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5 years' experience as a Foreman/Carpenter in commercial construction
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently and work under pressure to meet required deadlines.
  • Independent self-starter and good listener who can discern required steps to achieve goals without specific task direction.
  • Skilled in the measurement, cutting, and shaping of wooden materials using tapes, saws, chisel, and various other tools.
  • Able to sit, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. May be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Possesses a valid CDL driver's license.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Thrives in a friendly, fast-paced, team-oriented environment where accountability, work ethic and a "can do" attitude is a necessity.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
